Application and selection
The number of course participants is limited to 65 to enable active participation and interaction during the course. The target audience is PhD students working in academia and industry, utilizing mass spectrometry in their projects. However, post-doctoral scientists or technicians interested in mass spectrometry are also strongly encouraged to apply. We aim to balance gender and cover a large geographical distribution for participants.
The two prime criteria for participant selection are:
- The participant already has a basic understanding of proteomics
- The participant will likely use the acquired knowledge in his/her current work/project
Applicants will be asked to submit a motivation letter (300 words) explaining how they will benefit from the course and describing their previous proteomics experience.
Applicants are also invited to share their scientific project at the course as a poster, by first submitting an abstract with their application.
A number of travel grants are available; after checking their eligibility, applicants need to indicate in the application form if they want to be considered for a specific grant.
